At Madbox, the Data Core Team supports game performance and decision-making through data. As a Data Scientist, you own projects end-to-end, from identifying opportunities to delivering impactful insights and models. You combine analytical thinking, business sense, and technical skills to turn data into real impact.
This role reports to the Data Manager and involves close daily collaboration with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, the Analytics team, and the Growth team.
Based in Barcelona, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-moving, creative environment, taking ownership of data solutions that directly impact our games and business.
Your future responsibilities and scope:
Take ownership of end-to-end data science projects, from problem definition to deployment and monitoring
Analyze player behavior to understand game performance, progression, monetization, and engagement drivers
Design and analyze A/B tests, define KPIs, and ensure robust interpretation of results
Develop predictive models, segmentation, and forecasting approaches to support decision-making
Design and optimize data models and datasets tailored to analytical and business needs
Ensure data quality and consistency, validating assumptions and identifying data issues
Leverage and adapt AI tools and approaches to enhance data workflows and impact
Demonstrate autonomy and decision-making, driving projects forward in ambiguous environments
Contribute to the data roadmap, identifying high-impact opportunities for data science and analytics
The profile we are looking for:
Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or equivalent
3+ years of experience in Data Science or advanced analytics roles
Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
Solid experience with data modeling and large-scale datasets
Strong understanding of statistics, A/B testing, and experimental design
Experience applying machine learning techniques to real-world problems
Knowledge of cloud platforms (preferably GCP) and modern data environments
Good understanding of data pipelines and ETL processes
Experience with orchestration tools and dbt
Analytical and problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
Autonomous, proactive, and able to drive initiatives end-to-end
A team player who enjoys collaborating in a fast-paced and creative environment
Nice to have:
Experience in the mobile gaming industry
Exposure to growth, UA, or product analytics contexts
