As a Lead Games Artist in one of our New Games teams, you will spearhead the development of captivating games, from initial concept to final production. You will hold the artistic ownership of the project, serving as the primary resource for all art-related matters. This highly hands-on role is ideal for a senior artist looking to level-up or a lead artist looking to enjoy a dynamic environment with substantial creative freedom!
We’re looking for a true game-maker, that uses their versatility to truly shine. You'll join a compact core team of 5, working alongside a Game Lead, two Game Developers, and another game artist who will bring complementary skills to the team.
You possess a deep passion for creating and playing mobile games, coupled with a keen understanding of the casual mobile games landscape. This includes keeping up to date with trends, innovation, and competition, consistently sharing your insights to elevate the team's artistic output.
You will mentor junior team members, providing a strong artistic vision and ensuring that project timelines and objectives are met with quality and efficiency. Your exceptional communication skills will cultivate an environment of open feedback and continuous improvement within the team.
Your future responsibilities and scope:
- Own of the long-term artistic vision for the project, ensuring quality and consistency across both prototyping and content updates.
- Lead by example, creating art that inspires your team and captivates players
- Create key art assets, benchmarks and documentation to support your artistic vision.
- Share the planning and prioritization of daily tasks with your team, ensuring objectives are met regarding quality, technical constraints and deadlines.
- Guide common agreement on art topics and foster innovative ideas from your team.
- Hold art pipeline conversations, being able to communicate clearly with other disciplines to ensure the best results.
- Support the Art Director with the performance and skill development on your team, identifying opportunities for improvement and setting them up for success.
- Be proactive on tackling art topics, motivating and inspiring your team. Benchmarking competitors' mobile games for learning and sharing purposes.
The profile we are looking for:
- At least 5 years in mobile video games development
- Expertise as a senior or lead artist - with at least one casual game launched, or a varied portfolio of prototypes in mobile free-to-play games.
- Demonstrated high quality of delivery in 3D and/or 2D artwork for games. We will favor applicants who can do both.
- Versatile art knowledge, able to guide 3D, 2D and UI artists to keep consistency and quality across the product.
- A working understanding of core UI/UX principles and how to present information in a compelling and accessible way.
- Expertise in Photoshop, a 3D package(Blender preferably) and Figma
- Solid knowledge of Unity - Good practices & Implementation
- Professional level in English language and outstanding communication skills, ensuring discussions are fluid and structured inside and outside of the team.
